Today's poll:

Everyone has a blog these days. There are liberal blogs, conservative blogs, country music blogs, Darth Vader blogs, even blogs about blogs. Bloggers are the pamphleteers^* of the 21st century. What's your opinion of blogs and blogging?

And remember, this is for posterity, so please, be honest.

*Back in revolutionary days and before, patriots and activists would circulate their thoughts and ideas through cheaply-produced pamphlets. Perhaps the best example of this was Thomas Payne's Common Sense, which carried powerful ideas of independence throughout the colonies. These days, pamphlets have lost much of their charm, and are now used mostly for advertising political lunatics, take-out menus and remedies for irritable bowel syndrome.

Can a blog about irritable bowel syndrome be far behind?

You're being difficult.

I'm not asking you to say whether all blogs are good or all blogs are bad. I'm asking what you think of the idea, of the practice.

There are good baseball teams and bad baseball teams. That doesn't mean you can't answer the question, "What do you think of baseball?"

Yes, some are good some are terrible. The question is whether the good ones make the medium worth it. Or the reverse, do the crappy ones ruin it for you?
