I am leaving for Italy on Thursday afternoon, Thanksgiving day, on a flight to Florence by way of Paris. I am anxious for it, in the same way that a skydiver is anxious to hit the ground. This is me breaking out of my Comfort Zone, which everyone assures me is a good thing, though I've never gotten a really satisfactory explanation why. This is supposed to be a vacation, after all.
But I will do my best to be comfortable while outside of my Comfort Zone and inside the Euro Zone. I intend to soak up the atmosphere, see many beautiful things, drink lots of wine and eat lots of grain-based foods. I'll try and remember most of these things, and write some things down, and take a picture or two, so I can share it with you when I get back on December 4.
Have a happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
