Cicero's "Six Mistakes of Man":
1) The delusion that individual advancement is made by crushing others
2) The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected
3) Insisting that a thing is impossible because we ourselves cannot accomplish it
4) Refusing to set aside trivial differences
5) Neglecting development and refinement of mind, and not acquiring habits of reading and studying
6) Attempting to compel other people to believe and live as we do

Talk about remarkable foresight -- he's practically describing life in 21st century America.

You wanna talk about remarkable foresight? That's what this is. Remarkable foresight. Can you say "remarkable foresight"?

(Seriously, though, I enjoyed this. I'm guilty of five of them.)

When you talk about remarkable foresight, that's the kind of thing you're talking about.

"The delusion that individual advancement is made by crushing others" was summarized well by the main character in Mean Girls (http://www.script-o-rama.com/movie_scripts/mean-girls-movie-transcript.html), who noted:

- Calling somebody else fat won't make you any skinnier.
- Calling someone stupid doesn't make you any smarter.
- And ruining Regina George's life definitely didn't make me any happier.

Cady Heron knows what she's talking about:

"Regina George may seem like your typical selfish, back-stabbing, slut-faced ho-bag. But in reality, she is so much more than that."

Incidentally, it was my mom who caught my spelling mistake.

I've never seen this before. These rules are so fitting and just what I needed. I will be hanging them on my office bulletin next to the Dilbert cartoons an motivational poster.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but you're welcome anyway.
