The Case of the Mysterious Oblique Reference

I was looking through some old Jason Hammersla Files updates, and I found this under "Currently Thinking...," from December 13, 2002:

I barely know this girl. All I really know is her name, and that she's smart, and she's pretty, and she intimidates the hell out of me, and I know when I see her tonight I'm just going to stay on the opposite side of the room, because to try and talk to her would tie my tongue in knots and expose me for the fraudulent idiot I am.

And I'm dying to know, who the hell was I talking about? Does anybody have any idea? Can anyone help?

The answer is: Laura Rau, a saucy little redhead and close friend of Amanda Cronkhite's. If I recall correctly, she did indeed tongue-tie me -- and not in the fun way.
